The drum is a common instrument around Africa, the drum symbolizes African culture. The drum is made from animal skins of goats, cows and many more.

The use of drums:

The drums are used to send massage or communicate to the audience.

The drums are used in traditional worship, funeral rites, ritual ceremonies, circumcision, king installation, circumcision ceremonies, culture encounter ,Dedication ceremonies, Twins ceremonies, weddings, introductions’, traditional dances, entertainment and many more. The drums have different drumming techniques that are used by each culture/tribe. There different culture sites in Uganda including Buganda Royal Tomb, and many more cultural sites.

CULTURE SITES IN UGANDA

Kasubi Tombs, these are Royal Tombs in located 5 kilometers from Kampala the capital city of Uganda. The tombs are located on top of the Kasubi hill. The Kasubi Tombs are important in the culture of Buganda Kingdom.

The location of the Buganda kingdom is a dome like shape. The tombs are respected with royalty .the Tombs are worthy a visit while in Uganda.

The Sezibwa falls.

The falls are spiritual sites where unique culture of Baganda people is held. The place has been a favorite spot for Buganda kings. The falls are found in Mukono off to the border of Kyagwe and Bugerere kingdom, in the eastern part of the Buganda kingdom.

The Sezibwa falls  is a place where the former kings Mutasa11 and Mwanga who were both former kings of the Buganda kingdom “tied “twins  .other than culture significance ,the waterfalls are the location for rock climbing, healing  site, bird watching, culture dances and waterfalls.

Mparo Tombs

The Tombs are found in Hoima, the Tombs are located on Hoima ,Masindi Road. The Tombs are the burial grounds for the kings of the Bunyoro kingdom. The tombs are grave yards for the “Omukama” the kings of Bunyoro. The tomb is where the grave of Omukama   Kabarega was buried; he was one of the culture leaders in Uganda.

Bigo bya Mugenyi, Ntusi.

The site of Bigo bya Mugenyi Ntusi are located in Mubende district and holds the Bachwezi‘s numerous earthworks and other related kingdoms.

Namugongo shrines

Namugongo shrines: the shrines this where the martyrs shrines are located in Uganda. It’s at this place where the twenty martyrs were brutally executed by the orders of the Kabaka mwanga 11 for their belief in the 1886 and its this same place where the catholic pilgrims gather for the remembrance of the Ugandan martyrs.

Bakers Fort in Patiko:

The fort is located 32 kilometers north town of Gulu the largest city in the northern part of Uganda in Patiko Sub County. The fort was founded by Sir Samuel Baker.

Karambi Tombs.

The Tombs are located in Fort Portal, along Kasese road 5km from Kasese town the Tombs are burial places   for Rukidi 111 and Kasagama.The Tombs are historical sites to the Toro Kingdom.
