Lake Bunyonyi is a birders paradise which is located between Kabale and Kisoro in the southeastern part of Uganda.
Lake Bunyonyi is recorded as one of the deepest crater Lake in the world, Lake Bunyonyi has a very big number of islands, some of the islands were used for punishing the Bakiga women or girls who used to get pregnant before marriage ,they died while trying to escape from the island when swimming to the shores of the Lake. There a number of hills that surround Lake Bunyonyi, with amazing scenaries which are beautiful.
Lake Bunyonyi is a local word which means a place of many birds, relax and enjoy a canoe ride, boat ride, nature walk, hiking, culture encounter and many more.
Bwindi Forest National park, is famous for the endangered Mountain Gorillas, there over 400 mountain Gorillas that are left in the world, apes are wild habituated trained to be close to human beings as they continue their day to day activities. The habituated mountain Gorillas are located in different sectors of Bwindi including Nkuringo, Ruhijah ,Rushaga, and Buhoma.
There a number of mammals to encounter including Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Colobus monkeys ,red tailed monkeys, Velvert Monkeys ,Lhotse Guenon, Baboons, Antelopes ,Elephants, Bush pigs ,Giant hogs, Duikers, cats.
A number of bird species including African green broadbill and other birds include Cinnamon-chested Bee eaters, Francolin, Green Tinker bird, mountain masked and chestnut, red faced woodland, warbler, Ruwenzori Batis and white tailed fly catcher and many more.250 species of butterflies, chameleon geckos,27 species of frogs,170 tree species and 14 species of ferns.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala-Bwindi Forest National park.
Early morning after breakfast our guide will pick you up from your hotel or resident area, he will take you through a short breifing about the whole safari. Embark to the west south of Uganda at 7am; the early morning drive enables you to reach early in order not to catch up with the traffic jam, and to enjoy the park activities. Drive to Masaka.
Drive through Masaka road, you will have a stopover at the Equator and stand at the south and North Pole hemisphere in the middle of the world. Take pictures and buy souvenirs, after drive through the cultivated land ,view the beautiful scenaries see, the monument ,long horned cattle’s, have a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch at Agipa Motel hotel, later continue driving through the rolling hills with Banana plantations of Kigezi highlands.
Arrive at the lodge be welcomed as you enjoy amazing views of various landscapes ,mountainous area, Check into the lodge ,have dinner and relax.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and cultural encounters in Bwindi
Wake up early after breakfast ,have your packed lunch box and water, our guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about Gorilla trekking ,you be grouped in 8 people ,meet with a game ranger ,have the walking stick and a porter then trek through the rain forest.
Note: Mountain Gorillas are wild animals that keep moving from place to place. However early morning before the briefing the rangers are able to terrace where they last ate, played, built their nests, trek ,it takes 30 minutes to 8 hours this depending where Gorillas are located.
Trek the mountain Gorillas, with great opportunities to spot a number of birds, spot the trees, Chameleons, Beautiful sceneries, view the Sabinyo, Gahinga, Muhavura.
Encounter with the Mountain Gorillas and have a chance to see the human look alike as they groom, play, groom each other, build their nests and many more to do.
If lunch time clocks before your return to the lodge ,you will have a short picnic lunch in the forest after return to the park headquarters for Gorilla celebrations and have your certificates and our guide will drive you back to the lodge relax.
In the evening prepare for a cultural experience where you take time to learn about the first people who lived in the forest, the batwa people learn their history how they lived in the forest , they were hurting, visit the local doctor who uses herbs to treat people, note this is not a witch.
Return to the lodge relax after a long day and have lunch.

Day 3: Bwindi Forest National park –Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up early morning after breakfast prepare and set off to your journey to Lake Bunyonyi which is found in Kabale the second deepest crate lake in Africa and a great place for birders just as the name suggests .The name Bunyonyo is derived from a local word which means a place of many birds /small birds.
Arrive at the lodge for a canoe ride on the lake where you will have a chance to spot various birds, islands, communities, lakes.
Take photographs enjoy the beautiful sceneries .After the canoe encounter have lunch in the evening have a community nature walk through the Batwa and Abaheesi community.

Day 4: Return to Kampala
Wake up early morning have breakfast checkout from the lodge and drive to Kampala before 6pm.Have a stopover in Mbarara at Agipal Hotel
