Kidepo valley national park

Kidepo national park, is located in the northeast part of Uganda in the region of Karamoja Uganda. Kidepo valley is a rugged savannah, covered on 2,750 meters mount Morungole by Kidepo and Narus rivers.

 Kidepo  valley national park, is located in Kaabong district, its approximately 220kilometers,by road northwest of Moroto ,the largest town in sub region and 520 kilometers by road ,northeast of Kampala Uganda’s capital city.

The park has stunning sceneries which take away the breath. With marvelous cry of the wild. A number of wildlife, vehicles and absence of people, kidepo gives you a true image of Africa in the wild with in this virgin land never visited.

The park protects lions during the dry season, tree climbing lions, elephants ,buffaloes, giraffes, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, bat eared fox ,water buck ,Jacksons hartebeest, oribi and many more.

Game drives.

Kidepo valley national park, offers an encounter of wilds of Africa with no people and no vehicles passing. The game drives are guided with a ranger. Kidepo has the best game drivers in East Africa when you visit the Narus valley where hundreds of buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes and many more which are seen usually trekking water.

Birding

Kidepo valley national park is a birder experience, where one would enjoy the birds of the wild including Verreaux eagle, pygmy falcon, and Egyptian vulture. It’s the only park where one can find the common ostrich and the ostriches breeding is protected by the Uganda wildlife Authority in order to increase on the number of ostriches in the valley.

Nature walks.

The park is a great area for nature and bushes.it gives you an opportunity to take a walk on foot with a guide to view and visit many places of Kidepo. Visit also the Morungole Mountain where you will definitely find the ethic group of people including a building which wasn’t completed by Amin Idi the former present of Uganda but may be it will in the coming years.

Community walk.

Visit the people known as the warriors who live in the wild west of Uganda. Their calm people who have recently been disarmed and have am impressive nature. Their main activity is cattle however they also carry out farming. The area is an arid regions which makes the local people walk miles to find water it’s a culture visit which gives you insight of Africa with the people who are related to the Masai.

The park is not only a valley but an experience in the virgin land of the wilderness like no other awaiting to be discovered.
