1 DAY ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

1 Day Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, is a home to the white Rhinos  in Uganda, the sanctuary is located along Masindi-Gulu highway, it inhabits  the only Rhinoceros at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, it’s on the land of 7000 hectares with Savannah ,primates, mammal  and wooden vegetation species.

1 day Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is a home to a number of animals, Reptile species, bird species , the animals Kobs, warthogs, monkeys, hippos, waterbucks etc. It can be seen at Ziwa sanctuary the only habitat for Rhino trekking in Uganda. There many bird species such as the famous African bird called the shoe bill stork.

Detailed Itinerary

1 day Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, it takes maximum 3hours from Kampala to the sanctuary, the trip starts at 7am after your breakfast start the journey with our guide who will first brief you about the whole trip.

Drive through Bombo- Luwero road have a stopover at Luwero triangle where the brutal killings took place, that brought to power the ruling government  during the 1986.By some fruits from the market areas, continue the journey to Nakasongola have a chance to see cattle’s grazing in the short grass in open savannah woodlands.

Continue with the drive arrive at the sanctuary be briefed about the whole trekking rules and regulations .be guided by a ranger and guide in the sanctuary as you see a number of bird species, animals ,reptiles and many more.

When you finally encounter with the Rhinos see them in their grazing areas of the sanctuary, its an amazing experience to see the animals that are part of the big five in Uganda.

After the amazing encounters have Lunch at Kabalega dinner, relax and set off to Kampala back your hotel or area of residence depending on preference before 5pm.
