2 DAYS NYUNGWE

 Nyungwe forest, is untouched natural rainforest that is filled with biodiversity in the southwestern part of Rwanda, it is believed to be one of the forests which have taken many years and it is situated at the border of Burundi and Rwanda, to the south border it’s located at Lake Kivu then west to Democratic Republican of Congo.

Nyungwe forest was established in 2004 and this covers 970km2 total land surface of bamboo, grassland, swamp making it a rain forest.

The park has a number of animal species and contains 13 species of primates, 400 tree species, 70 mammals, 20 reptiles, over 200 bird species and many more.

 The mammals are found at the Albertine Rift Montane forest in Africa the nature of wildlife is a forgettable experience in the wild.

 The park has one of the famous forest canopy in Africa amongst the 3 canopies and the only one in East Africa.

There many experiences at the park to encounter including birding, chimpanzee trekking, canopy walk experience, primate walk, hiking to the trails, culture encounter and many more.

 The 2 days encounter will give you an experience in the wild. The trip starts in the main town of Rwanda a country of a thousand hills and it takes approximately 4 hours drive from town well you drive through beautiful sceneries of rolling hills and tea plantations.

Itinerary

Day 1 wake up early morning depending on your arrival time into Rwanda in case you arrived the previous day our guide from Dina Travel and Tours will pick you up from your hotel or area of residence for a short briefing about the whole itinerary there after transfer to Nyungwe forest.

 Along the way have a stopover at the Ethnographic Museum in Butera for a great opportunity about Rwandan people and their culture history. Continue driving to Nyungwe forest national arrive in the evening. Check in at the lodge.

Day 2

 Wake up early morning for a heavy breakfast our guide will pick you up from your lodge and drive you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about chimpanzee trekking.

 Meet the ranger and guide who will accompany in the forest to trek the chimpanzees.

 The trek takes about 30 minutes to 2 hours to locate the chimpanzees’ .Note: these are wild animals and they move from place to place.

 During the trek you will spot a number of bird species this is a big opportunity for birders, tree species, primates, mammals and many more.

When you encounter with the chimpanzees you will be allowed to spend one hour with them to view them as they feed, display their nests, play you will realize these are special characters which they share with humans.

 After return to the lodge for lunch and there after check out and drive back to Kigali our guide will transfer you to the airport or area of residence.
